An exciting leadership opportunity has become available at a practice located in the Wellington Region of New Zealand’s North Island for a Lead Veterinarian.
The ideal applicant will commence in April 2020.
You will be joining a team whose mission is to provide their clients and pets with excellent veterinary service and quality pet products while delivering superior veterinary skills, technology and advice within a friendly and caring environment.
The successful candidate will have exceptionally high standards of care and possess a proactive, can-do attitude.
Opening hours are 7:30 am to 7:30 pm, Monday to Friday and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday. There are no after-hours duties as there is a dedicated after-hours clinic in Wellington.
This is a large, very well-equipped clinic with modern patient anaesthetic monitors, fluid pumps, surgical cautery and suction, operating microscope, orthopaedic and endoscopy equipment, digital x-ray and ultrasound facilities and an on-site laboratory. The clinic is part of a local referral network providing opportunities to work with other vets whose special interests include Surgery, medicine, Imaging, Dermatology, Ophthalmology & Feline Medicine.
The practice will support continuing education by providing an annual study allowance, study leave, paid registration and NZVA membership, plus practical training in everything from behaviour through to orthopaedic surgery.
The ideal applicant will:
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ practical experience with leadership capabilities
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to demonstrate client relationship building skills
- Demonstrate effective time management and organisation skills
- Have the ability to participate in police dog whelping roster (with generous remuneration).
