An exciting opportunity is available for a new/ recent graduate, or experienced veterinarian to join this multi-vet team in Devon.

The practice is owned by a Pretoria graduate, who previously worked as a university lecturer. He has a great deal of experience in training new/ recent graduates.

Sponsorship (work permit) is available for overseas applicants.

Shifts: 8.30 am - 4.30 pm (first consult at 9 am and last consult at 3.45 pm, maximum of 14 consults per day) OR 11 am - 7.30 pm (first consult at 11.30 am and the last consult is at 6.45 pm.

Between 6.30 pm and 6.45 pm is kept in reserve as emergency-only appointments, maximum of 16 appointments per day).

Half hour appointments for every new client is standard.

1:3 weekends: Saturday 8.30 am - 5.30 pm and Sunday 10 am - 5 pm. Weekends are purposefully kept as quiet as possible. Time off in lieu the week after a work weekend: Monday half day 8.30 am - 1 pm and full Friday off.

No on-call required. However, it is an option available to anyone interested.

This role offers 25 days leave plus bank holidays plus CPD leave and every third Friday off.

This is a progressive, evidence-based practice and offers a very high-end level of customer service and clinical care for patients. There is a high percentage of insured clients and a very strong emphasis on preventative healthcare.

The practice is equipped with full in-house lab, microscope, oscillometric and doppler blood pressure monitors, multi-parameter with capnograph, ultrasound with colour doppler, digital x-rays and dental x-rays.

Every member of the team has a great sense of humour and a 'Can-Do' attitude. The practice prioritises aptitude over experience with each staff appointment that they make. Experience is highly valued however, the team is willing to train/mentor the right person. Case continuity and retention is encouraged from the start with appropriate support from senior surgeons rather than senior surgeons taking over cases.

Feedback from Australian locum placed by Vetlink at this practice: I loved it at this practice. Great team and I still see the owner socially (I went down and caught up with them all for dinner last weekend) … That's how much I liked the team there! It is a nice working day with plenty of breaks, plenty of time to do all the things you need to get done in your day. Torquay is also a super place to live. So all round, I would highly recommend it there.
