An Emergency and Critical Care Specialist is required to join a hospital in Sydney. This is a newly created position to join the hospital's two existing ECC specialists.
As the service continues to grow, including the development of a new ICU facility, a growing caseload, and a separate intensive care service during the day to support the emergency veterinarians, additional expertise is required for both clinical case management and mentoring of the emergency team, interns and nursing staff.
This position requires DACVECC or FANZCVS - eligible for specialist registration in NSW OR board-eligible residency trained in emergency and critical care.
Sponsorship (work permit) is available for vets from overseas. The hospital is offering a generous salary package including 4 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave, and a relocation allowance, plus assistance with visas for overseas applicants.
The hospital provides referral services in the fields of small animal surgery, internal medicine, intensive care, medical oncology, radiation oncology, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging, dentistry and exotics. They have a great team of long-term employed support staff who are engaged and committed to providing the highest quality patient care.
On-site facilities include MRI, CT, ultrasonography, endoscopy, IDEXX laboratory equipment, numerous ventilators and blood gas analyzers, lecture theatre, meeting facilities, dedicated quiet offices for specialists, a staff room and a 24-hour reception team.
There is ample parking at the facility which is also easily accessible by both trains and bus services.
