A leading specialist hospital in Sydney is currently seeking a Avian & Exotics Specialist join their very well established service.

Sponsorship (work permit) is available for vets from overseas. The hospital is offering a generous salary package including: 4 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave, and a relocation allowance, plus assistance with visas for overseas applicants.

The service which opened in 2010 provides dedicated avian and exotic nurses, two experienced avian and exotics clinicians, a dedicated ward, surgical suite and procedure areas. The hospital provides 24hr ICU care and an emergency service.

As well as working with some of Australia's leading specialists you will also be have the opportunity to work with leading technology. Services offered include internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, oncology, dentistry, animal behaviour, exotics and avian, imaging, emergency, critical care and physiotherapy.

Facilities at the hospital include radiology, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, ECG, in-house lab facilities, on-site CT and MRI. Radiation therapy is also available. They have an in-house Strontium radiation source and access to external radiation facilities. The nursing support is first rate and the ECC staff provide outstanding 24-hour patient care.

The hospital is looking to employ someone who:

- Can continue to build the service;

- Is willing to train others (including students and nurses) and willing to offer internships;

- Has high standards, attention to detail and aims to provide gold standard medicine and surgery to all species

- Diplomate status with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian Practice

- Holds European or American boarded qualifications in avian or exotic pet or wildlife medicine (MANZCVS, FANZCVS, RCCert etc.)

- Has qualifications in avian or exotic pet or wildlife medicine equivalent to FANZCVS (FANZCVS, Diplomate ECVM or Diplomate ACVP)
